“My proposal as a designer is born from these ancestral trades, which makes visible the richness of Chile's cultural heritage as a sacred jewel.”
ISABEL MARGARITA VIAL
The art of capazos means for me a miracle, a rebirth; a craftsmanship that with meticulous dedication and obsession for every detail, re-signifies the noble materials, enhances innovation in the techniques of different weaving and braiding and, most importantly, it is an art that I share with the creative hands of 25 artisans who are summoned to the sound of the basket weaving culture, which ends in luxury designs, unique and unrepeatable, with a sublime aesthetic.
The value of the craft of the horsehair weavers, of the braiding of wheat straw, of the magical architecture of wicker. From these ancestral crafts my proposal as a designer is born, which makes visible the richness of the cultural heritage of Chile as a sacred jewel, designing contemporary compositions with which I seek to elevate the culture of the capazo to a work of art and fashion, that is memorable, sustainable and heritable.

As a designer, I seek to give luxury back its true meaning, which is to recover the tradition of handmade and bring it back to fashion. The generosity of each artisan is something that fills me and from which I learn a lot, I enjoy hearing the stories about them that they have received from generation to generation.
These have been times to break traditional patterns and venture into my imagination, into my history, into my desires and passions. It has become the most sacred. Because we have also built a deep relationship of friendship with the artisans, we empower and challenge each other. An evolution that transforms into pure gratitude and with which I feel blessed. We bring out the best in each one. Every minute I think of something new, my mind doesn't stop, I give them my sketches challenging each other in a magical collaborative work.
Each IMV capazo is a true reflection of what we understand today as new luxury: a memorable, enduring and inheritable design. I would like all people to feel in my designs the unique experience of wearing an IMV Capazo , sustainable, memorable and inheritable art-fashion pieces. Values that for me are fundamental in the times we live in, responsibility with the planet, the consistency of collaboration with craft artists and helping to integrate fashion into the world of circularity.
We are part of that tremendous network of creators who add value and reputation to Chile in every corner of the world, promoting a country image that represents our identity and the incomparable beauty of our natural and cultural heritage.
