The challenge was enormous: to make a noble and rustic utilitarian vegetable fiber bag (ñocha) into a luxury capazo . I began to bring this design to life with elegant and sophisticated accessories such as glass rhinestones and some gray trimming tassels. Thus, an ancestral object that was used to collect food was transformed into a jewel in itself, with hundreds of sparkles that gave life to this Rain of Stars. The moving capazo emits delicate flashes of light.

Hand-woven bag with vegetable fiber, ñocha, a plant found in the native forests of southern Chile and woven by artisans from Chiloé. The glass rhinestones are placed in each joint of the fabric. Black velvet lining. At both ends it has black fur pompoms and gray trimming tassels. Two metal butterflies illuminated with zircons. Hand-woven with silk thread and silver mini sequins.

Each capazo is delivered in a bag that must be used for storage after each use. This helps protect it from possible damage and keep it in good condition. It is important to avoid exposing the capazo to the sun when not in use. Direct sunlight can cause discoloration and deterioration of the material.

It should not be submerged in water or come into contact with rain. It is also important not to overload it, since it is a delicate piece. The designer Isabel Margarita Vial will assist you personally if your capazo needs to be checked or restored indefinitely. To do this you can write to us through our contact form.
