The cameo is a jewel that we usually find in old jewelers, in the hands of collectors and in museum pieces. But haute couture creatives have also incorporated them into their catwalks, as Dolce & Gabbana did in Alta Gioielleria Collection (2019). The cameos were designed to create two layers in a single piece of material, of which the top protruded from its bottom, thus creating a multidimensional work of art. I was inspired by a cream pantone, precisely that of Marie Antoinette, queen consort of France and Navarre. During the 18th century, the ladies of Versailles and Paris competed to display the most sophisticated dresses and accessories, so for a woman who loves luxuries and sweet desires, the art expressed in jewelry would be a must.
Hand-woven Capazo , made with natural straw. With our sustainable philosophy, a design is made of beautiful ostrich feathers collected during the birds' change of plumage season. Resin cameo made by Chilean artist Millale; and the soutache work is made by Eveling Peña, who practices this technique that translates from French as braid, a craft from the 18th century that was used in embroidering period costumes and is today applied in haute couture garments and fabrics.
Each capazo is delivered in a bag that must be used for storage after each use. This helps protect it from possible damage and keep it in good condition. It is important to avoid exposing the capazo to the sun when not in use. Direct sunlight can cause discoloration and deterioration of the material.
It should not be submerged in water or come into contact with rain. It is also important not to overload it, since it is a delicate piece. The designer Isabel Margarita Vial will assist you personally if your capazo needs to be checked or restored indefinitely. To do this you can write to us through our contact form.
