Known as “the gem of artists”, opal is a stone of overflowing energy that has the ability to bring out all talents to the surface. That strength inspired me in this capazo that belongs to the Joyas del Crin collection, which we made collaboratively with the talented and beloved Flor, Rari artisan, cultivator of this wonderful ancestral technique unique in the world. A true cultural treasure of woven and hand-woven horsehair that has more than 200 years of history. I started designing and suggested to Flor that we make round capazos . His face of astonishment was followed by a smile, and we began this journey by trying the mane rose (girth), and it turned out to be a fascinating black-white pairing. Then, we took it to real measurements and built this magnificent “Black Opal”, “unique in the world”, Flor tells me.
Capazo made entirely of black and white horsehair roses; natural colors. Velvet bag with two black fur pompoms at the ends.
Each capazo is delivered in a bag that must be used for storage after each use. This helps protect it from possible damage and keep it in good condition. It is important to avoid exposing the capazo to the sun when not in use. Direct sunlight can cause discoloration and deterioration of the material.
It should not be submerged in water or come into contact with rain. It is also important not to overload it, since it is a delicate piece. The designer Isabel Margarita Vial will assist you personally if your capazo needs to be checked or restored indefinitely. To do this you can write to us through our contact form.
