Copper stone is a work of art. Its structure and handles are woven from horsehair, the craft that the artisan women of the town of Rari inherited from their ancestors. A true cultural treasure of woven and hand-woven horse hair that has more than 200 years of history. This capazo is made up of copper pictures framed in horsehair fabric. The innovation is surprising because Flor, an artist who weaves with her hands and soul, took on the challenge of Capazos IMV and wove the copper with the ancestral horsehair technique; Each metal thread is the same thickness as horse hair 0.1 millimeters. The result is this piece of fashion art called “Copper Stone”, unique in the world and unrepeatable. A jewel of contemporary design that carries the heart of these horsehair artists and their valuable cultural heritage.
Woven with horsehair, which is a horsetail hair that is woven in Rari, Chile by my dear friend and artisan Flor who is one of the great artisans who specializes in all the figures that are woven. Weaving the same method with 0.1mm wire, where it replaces the horse hair. Its handles are made of horsehair and it contains a velvet bag, with a black pompom on both ends.
Each capazo is delivered in a bag that must be used for storage after each use. This helps protect it from possible damage and keep it in good condition. It is important to avoid exposing the capazo to the sun when not in use. Direct sunlight can cause discoloration and deterioration of the material.
It should not be submerged in water or come into contact with rain. It is also important not to overload it, since it is a delicate piece. The designer Isabel Margarita Vial will assist you personally if your capazo needs to be checked or restored indefinitely. To do this you can write to us through our contact form.
